MIPS is a provider of laboratory information management systems. The company has existed for over 30 years and is internationally present across different countries. In Belgium, MIPS is the market leader, directing the business in the Benelux, France and Spain; overall responsible for 168 employees. Clients include hospitals and private laboratories. In terms of their service, they organise in both the sales and implementation towards clients. Given the growth of the company, the Finance & HR Director have decided to focus on the HR aspect within the near future. Job description


  • As the Finance Director you will be fully responsible for all monthly/quarterly/yearly closings for the 4 regional entities. You guide a team of +/- 5 colleagues.
  • You keep track of all financial & business reporting to MIPS’ US parent company in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. You follow-up on the sales/ WIP sheet in which all projects (budget, forecasts, etc.) are listed. A correct revenue recognition is thereby of great importance.
  • You take care of the full consolidation of all figures, preparation of yearly balance sheet and P&L.
  • You are responsible for a frequent follow-up on fleet management, insurances and bank relations.
  • As an internal ambassador, you play a supporting role in the implementation and automation of new IT systems.
  • You provide analytical reviews and commentary on historic results and forecast financial results to the regional CEO and the Group CFO, whom you report to.




  • You combine a master’s degree with several years of experience in a similar function.
  • You are open-minded and have a positive attitude; an entrepreneurial spirit and a pro-active approach typify your character.
  • Stress-resistance is key. You are able to cope with deadlines, you work in a well-organised and structured manner.
  • You have strong people management skills and are comfortable with change.
  • You are a good communicator, fluent in Dutch, English and French. Knowledge of German is an asset.
