JOB TITLE: Key Account Manager

REPORTS TO: General Manger, Ontario Feed

LOCATION: St. Marys, ON but open to location

JOB PROFILE:
Reporting to the General Manager, Ontario Feed the Key Account Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Swine Key Accounts. The incumbent will focus on both maintaining our current customers, as well as growing our business within the region. The successful candidate is expected to conduct all matters in a manner consistent with Shur-Gain, a Nutreco company's Corporate Values of Innovation, Caring, Capable, and Collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for increasing market share and volume for Ontario Feed;
* Focus on maintaining a persistent and diligent value added sales strategy;
* Work closely with the Territory Managers in a strategic selling approach supported with joint calls;
* Work closely with the Ontario Feed management team to assist in the ongoing profitability of our swine feed sales;
* Attend industry functions that will be of value to the position;
* Network within the industry to ensure complete knowledge of industry activities and trends affecting the swine industry in Eastern Canada;
* Support all marketing initiatives to enhance Shur-Gain's profile within the hog industry in Eastern Canada:
* Analyze and communicate effectively with the feed mill and Swine Business Manager;
* Compile a sales plan on an annual basis that provides pertinent details on plans for the new fiscal year. The plan will focus on sales volume projections, major account activities, strategies to generate new volumes, expected market growth and expected change in our market share;
* Continually coach, motivate, train and mentor the members of the Swine Sales team to work toward common goals in a consistent, diligent, value added manner for our producer customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment, and have the ability to develop positive working relations with associates and employees. The candidate must have:


* Post-secondary education and applicable practical experience;
* Excellent negotiation, analytical, time management and organizational skills;
* Proven ability in accurate and cost effective decision making;
* Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
* Knowledge of Swine production and management, nutrition management software and a thorough understanding of the Swine industry;
* High level of computer competency - including knowledge of MS Office
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Able to travel 2-3 days a week
