Sr. HR Manager
Temiscaming, Quebec

Lead the site's human resources function to achieve superior health & safety performance, and deliver world-class HR services to build a high-performance workforce. You have four direct reports.

Responsibilities: (People)

* Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, and champion the Health & Safety Program.
* Enhance employee engagement, to ensure our people feel good about their work, motivated, and loyal to the organization.
* Lead a motivated, efficient and engaged site HR team and provide career development opportunities.
* Promote compliance with the collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
* Provide expertise and advice on human resources and employee relations to the site management to support the achievement of production objectives, as well as the workforce objectives.
* Develop programs to ensure maximum employee performance.
* Promote timely and consistent compliance with policies, procedures and legislation that apply to employees.
* Maintain a site-wide communications program to inform, motivate and engage all concerned.
* Work collaboratively with the site team as an experienced HR and organizational effectiveness professional, and participate in special projects as assigned.
* Act as a business partner and coach with respect to leadership in managing the site operations.
* Report to the Director, Human Resources, Canada Operations.

Responsibilities: (Operations)

* Prepare and implement a yearly human resources plan aligned with the organization and site priorities and objectives.
* Direct the performance management, talent development and succession planning processes to meet needs for competence across the site workforce.
* Align administration of compensation and benefits with policy.
* Ensure a systematic approach to training, coaching and mentoring.
* Manage the collective agreement renewal process.
* Support the recruitment and hiring process.
* Administer the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
* Ensure conformance with all pay equity requirements.
* Ensure conformance with all Bill 101 requirements.
* Prepare budgets, manage costs, and seek efficiencies.
* Collect/analyze data to identify trends and target improvements.
* Report systematically on trends, results and project status.
* Ensure HR policies, procedures and processes are followed.
* Serve as the site's communications officer, and manage related internal and external communications.

* University degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* At least 15 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment with a strong labour presence.
* Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Leadership and strong influence skills.
* Should have participated in labour negotiations as a lead negotiator
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Bilingual: Must speak and write in English and French

* RYAM's Canadian flagship Temiscaming site has 700 employees in production facilities for specialty cellulose, high-yield pulp, coated bleached board and chemicals.
