Hudson is looking for a Finance Manager to support a growing international consulting business in Copenhagen

The role
On behalf of our client we are looking for a Finance Manager, who can become the financial steward of the business in Denmark. Together with a small team the Finance Manager will support a dedicated and professional team, which is primarily working within consulting.
It is a challenging position, with focus on re-building and re-tooling, in a company with aggressive growth targets. The successful candidate will be able to “hit the ground running”, be a strong team-player, and able to work on his/her own initiative and manage other people both directly and indirectly.
The position is reporting to a CFO in an international matrix organisation but will work closely with the local CEO on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide advice and counsel, which will include being a strong business partner to the Country Manager and the leadership team in Denmark.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial planning and budgeting in support of the company’s strategic goals and budgets. You will ensure that the company’s financial statements are accurate, timely and in compliance with Group policies.
  • Responsible for accounting, controlling, accruals, financial planning, business analysis, and treasury matters.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company’s auditors and other financial partners in close coordination with Group teams.
  • Drive the budgeting, forecasting and control job profitability together with the business.
  • Optimize income tax, social charges, benefits and any type of fiscal, legal and social expense.
  • Required to have visibility and gravitas within the local business and regionally, gaining the respect and confidence of other colleagues to support the local business as well as globally.

Professional experience
The candidate is an experienced leader who demonstrates calmness, clarity and strategic orientation. The candidate is able to lead with emphasis on creating an overarching commitment and motivation within the organization. The candidate can communicate the necessity of change and even be a role model for this. The candidate must have an optimizing-approach to processes and has a strong business orientation, with a desire to get involved and obtain influence.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a well-established, multi-national company, and has a track record from a complex (project organization), international environment, and the ability to demonstrate success in a similar environment where a significant re-building challenge was undertaken.

  • Balance between detail orientation and a holistic view (sometimes details do not need to be complete accurate to make progress).
  • Takes initiative, positive and proactive attitude, self-starter, gets-things-done attitude.
  • Resilient and tough with a strong character. Able to act on own initiative within a set of guidelines.
  • Humble approach to own abilities and respect for others’ competencies.
  • Strong and precise communication. Needs to find a natural pleasure in ”walking around the organization”, asking questions and being supportive.
  • People management skills – empathy, motivator, and role model.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
