Can you create stories and lead change based on divergent thinking?

Setting a new normal in a fast-growing industry

Milestone Systems have a fantastic story about market-leading and innovative products that they want to communicate to the industry, but they want to do it with a new logic, not previously seen in the industry. Do you want to help tell this story? Can you create stories and lead change based on divergent thinking? And can you scale content and opinions globally through co-creation and global communities? Can you see yourself in this, then please continue.

Background for the new normal is that today the main story is about video surveillance software. But video surveillance is much more than ‘just’ software. Together with thousands of partners around the globe, Milestone make the world see through video technology. Whether it is the shop on the corner or the metropolitan city, Milestone video management solutions help organisations of all types and sizes to protect people and assets and optimise their operations. The decisions Milestone make matter to their community of partners and customers, and to the world.

Your role and responsibilities include all aspects of internal and external communications, where you together with your team of 5 dedicated people build and deliver business oriented and value-adding communication. Internally, you ensure a strong collaboration with and support to the management team, where the management communication reflects the new normal and expectations to the employees. Externally, you deliver communication via all channels, while at the same time creating room for Milestone’s partners to communicate and be heard. The buzz-word is co-creation and thereby proactive involvement.

One of your finest responsibilities is to ensure to identify and flag important themes to communicate across all communication channels. You help your team to keep a high cadence in producing and sharing content such as press releases, customer stories, social media entries, blog posts and thought leadership articles. You collaborate across departments such as e-Commerce and marketing, which help amplify the impact of communications in every part of the brand’s footprint.

To succeed, we expect you to have competencies such as a proven track record in shaping a company’s position in the international playing field of surveillance, IT or high tech or from another industry that are highly partner driven. Strong communication skills with impeccable English and a solid professional and educational background. Also, you are an experienced people manager whom people want to work for, because you enable them to grow and make a difference. You have experience with managing media budgets and know how to track effectiveness against objectives for paid, earned and owned content. The longer list of responsibilities and requirements centers around strategy, communication and people.

You are a strategist who dares to challenge status quo and can develop and implement the communications strategy to align with vision, business strategy and goals. You are creative, bold and forward looking, and you continuously evolve how communications help shape brands. You have a demonstrated track record in an international matrix environment and are used to working with all levels in the organisation, including the board of directors. You can challenge mind-sets with tact, influence leaders and implement innovative communication strategies and approaches.

You are a strong communicator who loves to get your hands dirty, and a skilled storyteller with a journalistic mind-set. You stay abreast of innovative communications approaches and take bold moves to bring content to life across platforms and audiences. You set up programmes to scale content and extend reach through user-generated content. You are an experienced spokesperson and facilitator of interviews with a clear knowledge of your subject. You convey your messages with a clear plan and can bridge issues. You are genuine and enthusiastic, and communicate in a way that is easily understood. We expect that you are fluent in or native speaking in English.

Tell us why you are the one by sending your application and resume to dk@hudson.dk. Please mark your application with 653. For more information, please contact Camilla Svendsen or Annette Timmermann from Hudson at ph. +45 7027 7733.

You will be based in Copenhagen and can expect 30-40 travel days a year. It is a pre-requisite that you have a valid Danish work visa. We expect that you are native speaking.

About Milestone Systems

Milestone Systems is a global industry leader in open platform IP video management software, founded in 1998 and now operating as a stand-alone company in the Canon Group. Milestone technology is easy to manage, reliable and proven in thousands of customer installations, providing flexible choices in network hardware and integration with other systems. Sold through partners in more than 100 countries, Milestone solutions help organisations to manage risks, protect people and assets, optimise processes and reduce costs.

We call ourselves the open platform company. That stands for three things: open platform technology, an open business model and an open company culture. Our video management software (VMS) solutions are designed with an open architecture which allows for easy integration with other security and business systems. Yet open platform encompasses so much more. It also represents an open business model with an extensive technology and channel partner network, where everyone benefits from stronger innovation and value creation for our end-customers. Our open company culture is a foundation for how we collaborate internally and conduct business and share expertise and knowledge with partners and customers.

We are a fast growing company with big ambitions. The entrepreneurial spirit that founded the company can still be seen and felt, even though today we’re a global player in the surveillance industry. We’re headquartered just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark and we have offices in more than 20 countries. We offer a flexible work environment where our employees get to define their workday and have a great deal of influence over how they use their time. We work hard, set our ambitions high and celebrate our successes together. If you are change-willing, internationally-minded and interested in growing as a professional, you’ll fit in just fine. Be sure to follow us so you can be the first to know about job vacancies.
