Based in South West London, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Manager to join a ever-growing organisation on a 6 month contract.

Our client is experiencing a restructure within their corporate  functions. A Procurement and Supply Chain function has been established to lead Procurement activity for the business and drive efficiency. The Procurement Manager / Buyer  will report into the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain and will be required to work with budget holders across the organisation to run tenders and purchasing projects challenging the status quo and generating financial and organisational efficiency improvements. The salary for this role is Dependent on Experience.

 

  • Leading significant scale purchasing projects across the organisation
  • Delivering savings and sustainable supply solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to increase % spend under control through Oracle
  • Managing Oracle workload across the department – ensuring KPI days to produce PO remains < 4 through
    • Working with Finance Systems Analyst – metrics and KPIs
    • Development of the Resourcing team ways of working
    • Supporting more transactional elements of role
  • Creation of spend categories and an actively managed supplier base
  • Communicating Procurement Policy and supporting business in its adoption
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and ensure robust contracts are established and subsequently adhered to
  • Reporting savings and activity – generation of metrics to communicate Procurement effectiveness

 

Qualifications Required

  • Significant buying experience 5 + yrs
  • Experience of managing or developing spend categories
  • CIPS qualified

 

Skills Required

  • Proven purchasing skills within a category management environment
  • Purchasing systems experience – using, implementing, development
  • Strong team player; collaborative in style, actively seeks partnership with colleagues to achieve shared results.
  • Results driven; thrives on challenge; action-orientated and pragmatic in approach; flexible when needed.
  • Sound commercial judgment and decision making capability.
