Operations Manager (Buildings and Grounds)

The University of Glasgow has ambitious plans for the expansion of the Gilmorehill campus and by 2025 will have invested over £1bn in facilities, transforming the campus and supporting the University’s ambition to be a world changing University.  A fundamental strand of our wider plan is the provision of a high-quality Estates Operations service to staff and students.

The Operations Manager (Building and Grounds) will be responsible for the management of allocated human, financial and physical resources; providing effective management to the Buildings and Grounds Operations teams, equipping and enabling them to deliver efficient, high quality buildings and grounds operational services.

As part of the Technical Services Management Team you will contribute to the delivery of the department’s strategic and operational targets, overall service delivery aims and will be accountable for implementation and delivery of all relevant policy, objectives and standards. This involves the review, development and implementation of continuous improvements in working patterns to ensure value-for-money arrangements which are customer focused, tailored to the needs of stakeholders and which fulfil departmental and University objectives. In addition to developing the internal operations/trades teams competence and capability to support the operations of the existing Estate and the future complex buildings that will be delivered as part of the University’s Campus Development Plan
